Canada General Service 1866-70, 1 clasp, Fenian Raid 1866 (No. 953 Dr. Tickle, 1st Regt. 16th Foot), impressed naming, note no initial, nearly extremely fine £280-320

Robert Tickle was born in Roscrea, Co. Tipperary. A Labourer by occupation, he attested for service with the 14th Foot on 7 March 1861, aged 13 years, 6 months. Serving as a Boy and then as a Drummer, he was transferred to the 16th Foot in May 1861. With the 16th Regiment he served in British North America, September 1863-February 1870. He was discharged in March 1882 at the termination of his second period of limited engagement. Sold with copied service papers.
