Tibet 1903-04, 1 clasp, Gyantse (977 Sepoy Gul Mir, 2d M.I.) edge bruising and contact marks, fine, scarce £300-350

Two companies (later three) of Mounted Infantry, each of approximately 100 men, were formed for the expedition. One of the original two was composed of Sikhs, the other, of Gurkhas. Although an ‘ad hoc’ force, they proved invaluable to the expedition for their reconnaissance work and in pursuit of the enemy.
