Series and numbers correct for 25,000 notes of each serie 11.8.54' across part of central margin, three vertical lines of small punch-holes (Douglas 42-3) [4]. Extremely fine (£80-100)

The final issue of notes in 1954 carry the signature of the general manager, Sir William Watson. Watson was also treasurer of the Bank of Scotland and the two banks merged in March 1955. Only £1, £5 and £100 notes carry Watson’s signature
