One Pound, August 1914, D/2 019156, error with serial number only, on correct paper with mirror image on the back of a normal printed note; together with annotated postcard (Dugg. T5) [Lot]. A 20mm split at top and bottom of centre crease and a few spots of foxing, otherwise good fine (£250-300)

The postcard is annotated ‘Extracted from a bundle of first issue £1 notes in August 1914, W. Savile Henderson, Surgeon Major, 1st King Edward’s Horse’, with later notation on back ‘was offered £5 for this in 1918’
