A good Prussian infantry officer’s pickelhaube for a paymaster, gilt plate mounted with smaller gilt eagle, black patent leather skull, square cut peaks, the front underside green lined, the rear red, spike with pearl band, four stars to top mount, national and state cockades, chinscales backed with black leather, retaining its brown leather sweatband and light brown silk lining, complete with its field service cover and conical quilt lined oilskin covered carrying case, minor wear to gilding and silk lining shot, otherwise very good condition overall £650-750
