The Royal Scots of Canada, 5th Battalion, a very fine and rare officer’s or Pipe-Major’s plaid brooch in silver plate, the plain quoit mounted with a boar’s head ‘5’ and scroll ‘Ne Obliviscaris’, maple leaf sprays and title scroll ‘The Royal Scots of Canada’, the raised claw centre holds a facetted cairngorm style jewel stout pin fastener; two Victorian other ranks die-stamped gilding metal helmet plates, standard crowned star with applied centres, again featuring the unit title central boar’s head over ‘5’, the ‘5’ missing on one plate, fasteners replaced on one and missing on the other, a few star finials buckled on the helmet plates, otherwise good condition (3) £100-130
