20th ‘Halton Battalion’ Lorne Rifles Regiment of Canadian Militia, a very fine and rare group of badges c1872-1901, comprising a first pattern officer’s pouch belt plate, mounted on an original section of the black leather belt of heavy die cast silver plate, a QVC over maple leaf sprays, enclosing an oval ‘Canada Rifles’ gilt ‘20’ in the centre, three screw fasteners; the second pattern officers’ pouch belt plate in die-stamped silver plate, of QVC crowned Bath star pattern, ‘20’ in the centre and Lorne Rifles’ on the circle, two of three screw fasteners present; the corresponding officers’ and other ranks helmet plates die-stamped silver plate and blackened brass respectively, all fasteners present, gilt rubbed on the ‘20’ on the first item, otherwise good overall condition (4) £300-400
