Royal Company of Archers The King’s Bodyguard for Scotland, a very fine and most rare commanding officer’s shoulder belt plate c1902-52, rectangular gilt back plate with seeded ground with large silver overlay, a KC over an oval inscribed ‘King’s Bodyguard For Scotland’ ‘R.C.A.’, this with a large thistle spray to the centre and all upon the Cross of St. Andrew, four small stud fasteners, the back marked ‘Reserved Design’ ‘Brook & Son 87 George St. Edinburgh’; together with the companion headdress badge in die-stamped copper gilt, an oval ‘Royal Compy of Archers’ overlaid with the Cross of St. Andrew, and bearing arrows and a KC, at the base a dependant ribboned oval bearing the Thistle motto and central thistle spray two lug fasteners, mint state (2) £700-900
