Runkel, Solingen, single wide fuller, blue and gilt decoration for one third of its length incorporating stand of arms, classical helmet etc., retaining approx 50% of blue and gilt, copper-gilt stirrup guard chased with foliate patterns, herring-bone borders, ornate down-turned quillon, ferrule and shield-shaped langets chased with acanthus leaves, pommel in the form of a horse head with flowing mane, one piece ribbed ivory grip, complete with its black leather scabbard with three ornate copper-gilt mounts, the top locket with makers details within an oval cartouche, R.
