A Royal Military College prize sword, an 1897 pattern infantry sword, the 89cm dumbell section blade by Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall, London, No 59269 for 1921, etched with crowned GVR cypher, panels of foliate scrolls and within a central panel the presentation inscription ‘Royal Military College, Prize for Tactics, Gentleman Cadet [JUO] CA Wigham, July 1921’, regulation plated steel guard incorporating crowned GVR cypher, fish-skin covered grip bound with copper wire, complete with its field service scabbard, blade retains all original finish, plating a little dulled otherwise very good condition overall £350-400

Commissioned into the the Cheshire Regiment, served throughout the second world war and retired as a Lt.Colonel.
