A Continental small-sword circa 1740, the iron gilt hilt with knucklebow and double shell-guard, all finely pierced with trellis work oval madallions containing chiselled hunting horn and symbols of the chase etc., oval pommel en-suite, grip bound with silver-gilt wire alternating with russet ribbon inlaid with gold floral rivet heads, silver turk's heads, the 82cm hollow-triangular blade with remains of engraving, good condition overall £250-300
