A cased pair of DB side-by-side percussion officer’s holster pistols by Westley Richards, 170 New Bond Street, London, circa 1840, browned twist 20cm sighted barrels of carbine bore, platinum vents, central rib engraved with makers name and address, case-hardened breeches and tangs decorated with foliage, lock plates and hammers engraved en-suite, case hardened trigger guards with matching foliate engraving sliding safties, finely chequered figured walnut stocks, vacant silver escutcheons, captive swivel ramrods, contained within their brass mounted case, lined with purple baize with trade label of Westley Richards, pistols retain much of their original finish, some pitting to areas of the barrels, two hammer spurs and hoods chipped, the case interior rather stained and worn, trade label discoloured, only the bullet mould remains from the accessories £800-1000
