Medals Related to Aviation, Germany, Amerikafahrt des L Z 127 ‘Graf Zeppelin’ [First Flight of the Graf Zeppelin to America], 1928, a bronze plaque by C. Stock, Zeppelin in skies above waves, being supported by Hercules and the wind being blown by Zeus, rev. wer sie nicht kennte etc., legend in 5 lines, 90 x 65mm (Kaiser 483; cf. DNW 52, 690). Very fine and very rare (£150-200)

The Graf Zeppelin left Friedrichshafen on 11 October 1928 and arrived at New York on 15 October; she returned from America on 29 October, arriving back at Friedrichshafen on 1 November
