Australia, Products of New South Wales Exhibited at the Exposition Universelle, Paris, 1855, a silver medal by L.C. Wyon, agricultural scenes around central legend, ship below, rev. Britannia with seated and standing figures, kangaroo at right, 72mm (BDM VI, 630; cf. Noble 47, 539, and 60, 992). Tiny rim fault on obverse at 9 o’clock, otherwise brilliant and virtually as struck, toned, very rare; in original maroon case of issue (£900-1,200)
