One Pound (4), all 1 June 1954, H/1 001000, H/1 002000, H/2 026000, H/2 027000, uncut sheet, Watson signatures, notations ‘Correct as 1st nos. for 25,000 notes of each Serie 18.2.54’ across part of central margin, three vertical lines of small punch-holes (Douglas 42-3) [4]. The final issue of notes in 1954 carry the signature of the general manager, Sir William Watson. Watson was also treasurer of the Bank of Scotland and the two banks merged in March 1955. Only £1, £5 and £100 notes carry Watson’s signature
