, 1st Class (R.R.C.), G.V.R., silver-gilt, gold and enamel, unnamed, in Garrard, London case of issue; together with a Queen Alexandra’s Military Families Nursing Service Cape Badge, silver, hallmarks for Birmingham 1921, and a miniature dress medal of the same, extremely fine (3) £300-400

Sold with a ‘Buckingham Palace’ letter, ‘My dear Lady Airlie, I have heard with sincere regret of the death of Miss F. W. Christopherson and I beg that you will express to the relatives my deep sympathy in their loss. ... [signed] Mary R’. This together with an accompanying letter from the War Office, Whitehall, dated 21 May 1930, expressing sympathy, and addressed to Miss Christopherson’s brother, Captain Johs. Christopherson, of 70 Burnley Road, London, N.W.10. - the letter signed by ‘M. E. Medforth’, Matron-in-Chief, Q.A.I.M.N.S. Another letter from M. E. Medforth, dated 4 July 1930 and addressed to Captain Christopherson, informed him that his sister’s name had been added to the Memorial in the Chapel of Queen Alexandra’s Military Hospital, Millbank.
