John Duncan was born in and enlisted at Aberdeen. Serving with the 1st Battalion Highland Light Infantry, he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 19 December 1914. He was buried in the Cabaret-Rouge British Cemetery, Souchez, situated between Arras and Bethune.
