Willaim George Marshall was born in Headley, Hampshire, and living in Braishfield, enlisted at Petersfield, Hampshire. Initially in the Somerset Light Infantry, he later served in the 6th Battalion Wiltshire Regiment. He was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 2 August 1917, aged 30 years. Having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial and the Headley War Memorial. He was the son of William and Esther Marshall, of Headley, Bordon, Hampshire, and the husband of Dorothy Constance May Marshall of Furze Hill, Fordingbridge. Sold with photographs of the Headley War Memorial and copied research.
