William Smallwood joined the C.E.F. on 18 September 1914 and served with the 5th Battalion in France. He was discharged as medically unfit on 12 May 1919. Sold with original (damaged) Discharge Certificate, on which it is recorded under ‘Marks or Scars’ - ‘GSW Back; GSW L. arm’.
