(8630S Sto., R.N.R.); British War and Victory Medals (8630S Sto., R.N.R.); Memorial Plaque (Tadfus Keeney), nearly extremely fine (4) £160-200

Stoker Tadfus (Ted) Keeney, R.N.R., was killed on 30 December 1915, aged 21 years, when his ship, the armoured cruiser H.M.S. Natal was sunk by an internal explosion when at anchor in the Cromarty Firth. The explosion was due to unstable cordite exploding in the magazines. Keeney was the son of Mr and Mrs James Keeney of 48 Disraeli Street, Blyth, Northumberland. His name is commemorated on the Chatham Naval Memorial.
