Thomas Hyde Newell was born in Graudpont, Berkshire, and living in Slough, enlisted at Buxton. Serving with the 5th Battalion Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, he was killed in action on 17 October 1915. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial. Sold with damaged and part of the medal card boxes of issue, Memorial Plaque slip and named Commemorative Scroll.
