Evan Davies was born in the Parish of Llanfihangel Rhosycorn, near Carmarthen, Wales. A Dairyhand by occupation, he enlisted at Longueville, N.S.W. on 10 January 1916 and served as a Trooper in the 12th Australian Light Horse. He died of influenza and malaria in the 14th General Hospital at Abbassia, Egypt, aged 28 years. He was buried in the Cairo War Memorial Cemetery. He was the son of Thomas Davies of Tygwyn, Nantyffin, Brechfa, Nantgaredig, Carmarthen. Sold with copied service and related papers.
