Memorial Plaque 1914-18 (John William Frith) very fine £120-160

John William Frith was born in Darnell, Sheffield and enlisted at Sheffield. Serving as Private 12/1453 in the 12th Battalion York and Lancaster Regiment (Sheffield Pals), he was killed in action on the 1st day of the Battle of the Somme, 1 July 1916. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.
