John William Smith was born in Armidale, N.S.W., Australia. A Station Overseer by occupation, he attested for Rimington’s Guides at Durban on 23 September 1901, aged 26 years. He was discharged ‘time expired’ from Damant’s Horse on 25 March 1902. Sold with copied service papers.
