India General Service 1895-1902, 3 clasps, Punjab Frontier 1897-98, Samana 1897, Tirah 1897-98 (3723 Pte. A. Havelock, 1st Bn. Ryl. Sco. Fus.), unofficial connection between 2nd and 3rd clasps, good very fine £200-250

Alfred Havelock was born in Newcastle. A Fitter by occupation, he attested for service in the Royal Scots Fusiliers at Glasgow on 27 July 1892. With the regiment he served in India, March 1893-November 1903. He was discharged in July 1904 and died in Leeds on 15 April 1938. Sold with copied service papers and roll extracts. The latter confirms the clasps. The roll shows that only a select number of men from the regiment received the ‘Samana 1897; clasp - these being men of the Maxim Gun Detachment.
