Military General Service 1793-1814, 2 clasps, Nivelle, Nive (Joseph Eastwood, 84th Foot) polished, therefore nearly very fine £800-1000

Sold by Puttick & Simpson in December 1936.

Joseph Eastwood was born at Huddersfield, Yorkshire, and enlisted at Leeds on 1 June 1813, aged 17, for life. He served 10 years 177 days and was discharged at Clonmell on 74 November 1824, suffering from ‘chronic asthma contracted when on escort duty to New South Wales in the year 1822.’ Sold with copy discharge papers.
