James Light was born in the Parish of Downton, Salisbury, Wiltshire, and enlisted at Salisbury on 6 December 1810, aged 18, for unlimited service. He served 16 years 293 days, and was discharged at Waterford on 24 September 1827, ‘at the request of Colonel Wardlaw, 76th Regiment’. Sold with copy discharge papers.
