Military General Service 1793-1814, 2 clasps, Corunna, Salamanca (Hugh McLeane, 79th Foot) very fine £1200-1400

Hugh McLean was born at Kilmailey, Argyle, and enlisted at Fort William on 10 December 1797, aged 18, for unlimited service. He was discharged at Chichester Barracks on 16 February 1819, ‘being worn out’. His conduct is stated as having been ‘good and that he served in the following campaigns - Holland 1799, Egypt 1801, Zealand 1807, Walcheren 1809, Spain and Portugal 1808, 10, 11 and 12. Was wounded in Egypt, 21 March 1801, and at St Pedro’s Point near Cadiz 16 March 1810.’ Sold with copy discharge papers.
