Military General Service 1793-1814, 1 clasp, Orthes (B. Flagg, 6th Foot) bruise to rim at 5 o’clock, otherwise good very fine £800-900

Ex Chadwick Collection 1912 and Elson Collection 1963.

Bartholomew Flagg was born in the Parish of Wisbeach, Cambridge, and attested for the 6th Foot at Dunbar on 4 May 1812, aged 19. He served in France three years, in America one year, at the Cape of Good Hope one year, in the East Indies five years and a half, and the remainder at Home. He was discharged unfit for further service on 9 August 1831, his conduct being described as very bad. Sold with copy discharge papers.
