Naval General Service 1793-1840, 1 clasp, Trafalgar (John Sharp) small edge bruise, otherwise toned extremely fine and virtually as issued with original ribbon £4000-4500

John Sharp served as an Ordinary Seaman aboard the Thunderer at Trafalgar. Two other men of this name received the medal, one with clasps for Anse la Barque 1809 and Guadaloupe, the other with the clasp for Syria. Sold with copy of relevant muster roll which shows him to have been born in Farnham and aged 20 at Trafalgar, a copy of the ship’s log for the action at Trafalgar and other research.
