France, Maternité, or Fileuse Allaitant, 1902, a bronze plaque by J.-P. Legastelois, Breton woman suckling a new-born child, spinning-wheel at left, reverse flowers and book, 64 x 53mm (PBE 535; CGMP p.236; BM Acq. 1978-82, pl.43, 96; BDM III, 372)., about extremely fine , François seynoha, c.1905, a large uniface bronze plaque by M.-P. Lordonnois, bust right above views of the Seynoha business premises in Rouen and Paris, 242 x 163mm (BDM III, 471)., some light scratching by bust, otherwise very fine, rare (£30-50)

Last plaque exhibited by the artist, Marcel-Prosper Lordonnois, at the Paris Salon, 1905. François Seynoha was a furrier and couturier, with premises in Rouen and Paris. The plaque states that he was ‘furrier to the Queen of England’ (i.e. Queen Alexandra, wife of Edward VII)
