Estimate: £10,000–£20,000

12th Century, A Superb Collection of Lead Tokens, 12th to 18th Century, comprising some 9,000 tokens, including 63 “Boy Bishop”, Bury St. Edmund type, 45 dated pieces, these rare, various larger pieces and three moulds, mostly obtained from metal detector finds, a comprehensive collection, which had taken the late vendor many years to form, some allocated by find area, some duplication, the majority housed in 9 sturdy plastic cabinets, some loose on trays [Lot]. Most of the tokens are in average condition, some better, some worse, a collection worthy of being housed in a National Museum or Institution and certainly warrants further research (£10,000-20,000)
