Pinches, veiled and coronetted bust of Victoria left, rev. globe flanked by robed female allegories of Health, holding a serpent, and Education, holding a wreath, edge named (S.H. Johnson, Filter Presses, Pumps etc), 45mm (BHM 3175; Storer 4811; E 1704; D & W 71/192; Allen Pt 3). Small spot in obverse field, otherwise virtually as struck and attractively toned, rare; in original buff gilt-blocked case of issue (£70-100)
