Military Watercolours, two attractive watercolour paintings by ‘JEL’ showing the crossed Colours of the 79th Cameron Highlanders, c1860, and a similar single depiction of the Regimental Colour, c1902, though still showing the QVC (both c1911); a coloured print of the Colours of the 79th presented by HM Queen Victoria at Parkhurst 1873, all contained in card mounts; a framed and glazed watercolour by Capt H.Oakes Jones RF depicting the crossed Georgian period fragmentary colours of the Royal Westminster Middlesex Militia, above and below the saltire are the badges of the regimernt, inscribed on the reverse by the artist ‘Capt H Oakes Jones 5th Battalion The Royal Fusiliers Dover’, slight foxing to the latter item otherwise good condition (4) £40-60

Capt Oakes Jones was a regular and knowlegeable contributor to the Journal of the Society for Army Historical Research in the 1920’s.
