6th Dragoon Guards (Carabiniers), a very fine and rare Senior NCO’s 1847 pattern full dress helmet, complete with all partially gilded brass fittings, the ornate QVC plate with central rococo shield bearing a small plated eight-pointed star and central brass ‘VR’ cypher within a strap ‘The Carabiniers’, very large rose pattern side ornaments and broad link brass chin chain lined with stout buff leather, the acanthus plume holder complete with upright section and falling white horse hair plume (this of later pattern having a small rose finial), the peaks lined in black skiver, the lining and sweatband intact and original, much of the gilt ‘wash’ remains overall, the top section of the laurels on the plate has been indifferently re-affixed, otherwise in very good overall condition £700-900
