12th Bengal Native Infantry (the Khelat-i-Ghilzi) Regiment, the unique and extremely rare pair of consecrated silk and embroidered Colours to this famous regiment for the period 1880-1885, the Queen’s Colour bears the QVC over the central badge of the regiment, in gold thread ‘XII’ within a circle ‘Bengal Native Infantry’; the Regimental Colour in white silk with central QVC over Union sprays enclosing the same badge in gold thread, to the left and right are six battle honour scrolls ‘Khelat-i-Ghilzie 1842’, ‘Ghuznee’, ‘Maharajpoor’, ‘Candahar’, ‘Cabool 1842’, and ‘Afghanistan 1878-79’, both complete with scarlet/gold and white/gold thread fringes, the colours still vibrant and fresh, the Queen’s in excellent condition, the Regimental with slight age fractures to the white silk otherwise in exceptional condition for the period (2) £2000-3000
