An interesting Continental Heavy Cavalry officer’s sword, the earlier 93cm broadsword blade with shallow central fuller signed ‘ABRAHAM STAMM IN SOLINGEN’ between orbs and with later additional engraving ‘ADEOS EAMIGVEL SEREI SEMPRE FIEL’ and ‘JMJ COM AVXILO DEMARIA DISTRVIREI AMACONARIA’ solid bowl guard engraved with stand of arms and indistinct coat of arms, polished horn grip plain steel backstrap, contained in its steel scabbard with two hanging rings, a little patinated overall but good condition £250-300
