A Victorian Royal Navy officer’s sword for an officer of flag rank, the straight 64cm blade of light weight by E Thurkle, London, etched with royal arms oak leaves crowned fouled anchor and crossed flags over naval crown, regulation half-basket hilt incorporating crowned fouled anchor, lions head pommel folding side guard fish-skin covered grip bound with copper wire blue and gold bullion sword knot, complete with its black leather scabbard with three gilt mounts chased with bands of oakleaves, gilding a little worn otherwise good condition £200-250
