A Rifle Volunteer bandsman’s sword c1820, the 74cm sightly curved fullered blade, pipe-backed for the last 20cm, undecorated, the solid cast brass one piece hilt of mameluke form lion’s head pommel with loose ring for sword knot and spiral ribbed grip underside of cross-guard engraved ‘9 Gm.RV CWM AVON’ complete with its defective black leather scabbard with three matching brass mounts the top locket engraved with the same legend, blade discoloured, only approx two-thirds of scabbard present £150-200
