Infantry officer’s sword, A scarce 1895 pattern for an officer of the 5th Northumberland Fusiliers, the 84cm straight dumbell section blade by E.Thurkle, Soho, London, etched with crowned VR cypher, owners monogram ‘HST’ ? regimental device of St George & Dragon, flaming grenade etc and within ribbons battle honours to ‘Lucknow’, the regulation steel guard incorporating VR cypher and applied with the regimental badge of a flaming grenade applied with St George & Dragon, fish-skin covered grip bound with copper wire, complete with its steel scabbard, some service wear overall otherwise good condition £300-350
