Scottish officer’s sword, a field sword for an officer of a Scottish regiment, the narrow straight 83cm blade by E.Thurkle, London, with double narrow grooves and double grooved ricasso, etched with makers cartouche at forte and foliate scrolls at ricasso otherwise undecorated, retaining almost all original finish, fine quality plated honeysuckle guard with foliate engraving incorporating thistles, original buff liner faced with scarlet and edged with blue ribbon, fish-skin covered grip bound with silver wire, complete with its plated scabbard with ball finial, fine condition throughout £250-300

Several Scottish regiments carried the honeysuckle hilt embellished with thistles on their field service swords normally with the arppropriate regimental device engraved thereon.
