Scottish officer’s sword, 1865 pattern officers broadsword, for an officer of the Royal Scots Fusiliers, the 83cm straight double-edged blade by Hamburger Rogers & Co, King Street, Covent Garden, London, with double narrow grooves and grooved ricasso, etched with reversed and intwined crowned VR cypher regimental motif and motto, ‘Royal Scots Fusiliers’ and within scrolls battle honours to ‘South Africa’, regulation plated basket guard complete with its white buckskin liner the outside faced with scarlet cloth edged with blue ribbon, red fringe fixed around the flattened bun pommel, fish-skin covered grip bound with copper wire, complete with its regulation plated scabbard with ball finial, good condition throughout £500-600
