Household Cavary officer’s sword, a good 1814 pattern dress sword for an officer of the Household Cavalry, by Andrews, Pall Mall, London, the 90cm straight single edged blade undecorated but for the makers details, with two fullers each side ending close to the spear point, retaining much original finish, ornate gilt-brass half-basket guard cast and chased with with a lion and crown, side bars decorated with chased foliage flattened domed pommel, fishskin covered grip bound with twisted copper wire, complete with its brass sabbard with cut away panels exposing the black fish-skin inserts two hanging rings and distinctive scabbard finial, blade in very good condition, much gilding remaining on hilt mounts, fish-skin of grip a little worn, scabbard gilding lost and some denting to lower area wooden liner’s loose, overall in very good condition and a rare sword £2500-3000
