Alfred Cumes came from Starcross. As a Gunner in the Royal Field Artillery, he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 21 May 1915. Sold with some copied research and an original Buckingham Palace letter from the King to Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers and Men of the Guards Division, dated 22 March 1919, with envelope.
