Charles Albert Pearce was born in Stonedon Marsic, Essex, and living in South Benfleet, Essex, he enlisted at Warley. Serving with the 10th Battalion Queen’s Regiment (Royal West Surrey Regiment), he was killed in action on 13 December 1916. He was buried in the La Clytte Military Cemetery, Belgium.
