British War and Victory Medals (52961 Pte., Sco. Rif.) extremely fine (2) £60-80

James McKerracher was born born in Barony, Glasgow and enlisted at Glasgow. Serving with the 5th/6th Battalion Cameronians (Scottish Rifles), he was killed in action, France/Flanders on 24 October 1918, aged 33 years. He was buried in the Poix-du-Nord Communal Cemetery Extension, France. He was the son of Alexander and M. L. McKerracher of Glasgow. Sold with original medal forwarding slip addressed to ‘Mrs M. McKerracher, 4 Northlea, Doune, Perthshire’.
