George Ernest Remnant was born in Plaistow, Essex and enlisted at Petworth. Serving in the 9th Battalion Royal Sussex Regiment, he was killed in action, France/Flanders on 25 September 1915. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Loos Memorial.

Edwin Remnant was born in Plaistow, Essex and enlisted at Guildford. Serving with the 9th Battalion Royal Sussex Regiment, he was killed in action on 29 January 1916. Having no grave, his name is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial.
