Robert Dickie of Kilcreen House, Killagan, Co. Antrim, Ireland, was employed as a Mechanic. Entering into the R.N.A.S. as a Petty Officer Mechanic, he embarked for Russia on 1 December 1915. In February 1916 he left Alexandrovsk for England on duty with the Repair base. He returned to Russia in October 1916 and on 8 November, assisted the Russians at the Bakaritsa explosion at Archangel. On 17 December he rejoined his section at Reni. He was subsequently on detached service in Romania at Galatz; in Galicia and thence Kursk. In October 1917 he was awarded the Russian Medal for Zeal. Returning then to England, he was discharged ashore unfit for further service. Sold with damaged War & Victory card box of issue and copied service paper.
