The Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George, G.C.M.G., Knight Grand Cross set of insignia, circa 1860, comprising a magnificent large sash badge, 119 x 86mm excluding suspension ring, gold and enamels with finely detailed bulbous crown, and breasst star, 86mm, silver, silver-gilt, gold and enamels, the inside of the backplate stamped with maker’s mark ‘S.L’, otherwise unmarked, fitted with gold pin for wearing, complete with full dress sash and contained in its R. & S. Garrard & Co. case of issue, this a little scuffed, a few minor enamel chips and flakes to both centres of the badge, otherwise extremely fine and rare £4000-5000
