The Superb ‘Private Circulation’ War Diaries of Sergeant John Corbet Browne, Honourable Artillery Company (Infantry), who was killed in action on 2 June 1915, 254 typecript pages, with seven photographed sketches tipped in, bound in black leather, the outer cover embossed in gilt ‘War Diaries August 1914 to June 1915, J. Corbet Browne, Honourable Artillery Company’; together with original photograph of Browne; photograph of memorial and two Field Service Postcards sent by Browne in 1915, spine damaged to diary, otherwise in good condition and nicely written in great detail, presumably either unique or one of very few collated for private circulation amongst his family and friends £200-300

Sergeant John Corbet Browne was born at Bishopwearmouth, enlisted at Armoury House and lived at Holborn. He was killed in action in France and Flanders on 2 June 1915 whilst serving with the Honourable Artillery Company (Infantry). He is buried in Voormezeele Enclosure Cemetery, Belgium.
